Are E-Cigarettes Really Saving You Money?

E-Cigarettes Save MoneyIf you are new to electronic cigarettes you may be concerned about the cost. The start up cost can be intimidating but when you crunch the numbers you will find that e-cigs are a great choice and can save you a lot of money versus analogs.

The average cost for a pack of cigarettes in the US is right around 7 bucks. The average smoker smokes a pack per day which means in a year they will spend about $2,550. If you smoke two packs per day that number doubles!

The cost of electronic cigarettes is a little more complicated to figure out. First you need to buy an electronic cigarette or a starter kit. Starter kits range from 50-150 bucks so we will go with the average at about 100 dollars for a starter kit. Atomizers need to be replaced and can last anywhere from 2-4 weeks but we will go with the lower end of 2 weeks. At about 6 dollars apiece you will need 26 per year costing you $156. You also have to add in the e-liquid. It can be challenging to figure out how much e-liquid you need in a year but if you use 2ml’s each day you will need 730 ml a year or 25 30ml bottles. That will run you around 450 bucks per year. All together you have the $100 starter kit, $156 for atomizers and $450 for the e-liquid. This comes out to a grand total of $706.

When you look at the numbers it’s obvious which is a more economical choice.
