G2 Vapor Exclusive Interview

An E-Liquid you don’t have to steep!?! Yes it exists. Always pre steeped before bottled and juice that tastes the same each time. G2 Vapor perfected an E-Liquid that’s equally amazing in a tank or rebuildable. We sat down with G2 owner Clinton and discussed several aspects of the company, and how creating great E-Liquid and a safe product are his top priorities.

VA: How large of a company is G2 Vapor?
G2 Vapor: We actually only have three employees. It’s one of those things where I’ve been doing it long enough that I’ve figured out ways to save time and purchase equipment to do the work that humans would normally do. Like having a few people fill boxes, you have a machine do the same work.

VA: When do you create G2 created?
G2 Vapor: My first order went out in January 2012.

VA: I read on your website that the main reason you started making E-Liquid was because you were getting fed up with other company’s juice. How did you come up with flavors? Did you, one day just start experimenting or did you know what flavors you liked and wanted to recreate?
G2 Vapor: I was really just experimenting. I have a pretty vivid imagination when I comes to flavors and cooking. I learned how to cook when I was five years old, so it was pretty easy for me to put the flavors together and to come up with the recipes and pretty much from there it was just trial and error. I had a lot of sleepiness nights where I’d wake up in the middle of the night and have ideas come to my head and I’d just write them down, and then whip it up the next day.

VA: What do you think your most popular flavor is?
G2 Vapor: Right now?

VA: Yes.
G2 Vapor: Right now, Mr. Cookie by far is the most popular flavor! Vazilla comes in right behind it.

VA: What is it about G2 Vapor that makes it better compared to other E-Liquid companies?
G2 Vapor: Originally when I came out there weren’t that many E-Liquid companies on the market. There were companies that had been out for a while and all of their stuff was mediocre. At that time [2012] is was also the early stages of the rebuildable, and I got in on that from the very beginning and found out really quick that the liquid’s that were on the market did not taste good in rebuildables. They tasted horrible because they were designed for cartos. Being that I was into rebuildables, I wanted to make a liquid that would work in them. I think that a lot of the companies that were originally out there were using a lot of Chinese based flavors and ingredients…and you could really tell! So I’ve set out to really find the purest ingredients I could and source everything from the United States, which has always been my goal. Originally when I came out there were no, I guess premium juices you’d say, there was no such thing. Actually when G2 first came out it was priced at $18 and that was literally unheard of, there was no 30ml juice priced at that. Which is kind of ironic because today $22 is around the average cost.

VA: Do you have any new flavors that you’ll be releasing soon or are you just sticking with what you have now?
G2 Vapor: I have stuff in the works, I just don’t have the time I use to have because now we’re just getting a hold on the volume. Within the past month we’ve really buttoned down and been able to keep up with the volume, which has allowed me to start getting to the things I’ve had on the back burner. Probably within the next three months I’ll have a line released with five new flavors and one new flavor released for the G2 line.

VA: In your opinion, what should someone who just starts vaping look for in a good E-Liquid?
G2 Vapor: I’d say do as much research as you can about the company making it. You can tell a lot about a company by looking at their bottle. I’m not just talking about pretty graphics, I’m talking about how much information they actually put on the bottle. By that I mean, do they have a batch code, do they have an expiration date or a born on date, and do they list their ingredients. A lot of the stuff out there is pretty vague and a lot of the E-Liquid out there isn’t being made under the conditions it should be made. You have a lot of your so called “Bathroom Mixers” [Laughs]. So that’s one thing people need to be leery about.

VA: I know there are several people that purchase juice, including myself, that after buying it have to let it set for around 2 weeks before you can enjoy it. But, on your website you mention that your E-Liquid is “Steep Free”, can you elaborate on that?
G2 Vapor: I’ve never liked the idea that when you get something you can’t just vape it that never really made sense to me. I’ve never understood the rule of every bottle being made individually either. There is too much room for error when doing that. Because when you’re making it by single bottle and you’re off by even a half of a percent of something, which could affect that bottle drastically and change it completely. But if you’re off by half a percent in five gallons, it would not even change anything. So I’ve always been geared towards making things in large batches so there’s consistency, so every time you get a bottle of liquid it tastes the same. I have had liquids that I’ve purchased and it was great one time and then when I purchased it again, it was horrible and that use to always drive me crazy. So all of G2 liquids are made in bulk batches and always steeped before their bottled, so when they get into people’s hands their ready to vape and they don’t have to wait.

VA: Why is it that you don’t sell your liquids on your website? Don’t you think it would be easier for people to come directly to you to make that purchase or is there a reason you purposely don’t sell them on your website?
G2 Vapor: I just never have. I never wanted to deal with that whole side of the market, and I felt there were enough quality vendors out there that had a large enough presence that would allow them to do what they do best, customer service, and allow me to do what I do best which is make juice. From the beginning I felt like I could focus more on making liquids then customer service. I know friends that have companies that sell from their websites and it’s a whole nether animal. I need like a whole crew of people to satisfy that. I’m not going to say I might not ever do it in the future, but just for now, things have been going very well with the way we do it and we have some really good online vendors. Giant Vapes right now is probably the largest online E-Liquid vendor, they have some 38 different E-Liquid brands, and we’re one of his top selling liquids and he always has our liquids in stock. So that’s really helped with the online business.

VA: That makes sense, and it’s good that you’ve decided to keep your focus solely on your E-Liquid so you can produce the best product possible.
G2 Vapor: Yeah and lets be real here, the juice each person vapes doesn’t always come from the same company. Most people like a couple here, a couple from there. A place like Giant Vapes allows people to go to one place and get all of their liquids and free shipping, plus save some money opposed to going to five different websites and paying shipping for five different things.

VA: What are your thoughts on the new FDA proposal that came out recently?
G2 Vapor: It’s going to affect everybody. The way it’s written right now, it would probably eliminate 99.9% of the market. The whole application thing, doesn’t apply to us and really has nothing to do with us, it’s for cigarettes, and it’s not for us. For us to put in an application for something that was equal to something in 2007, the e-cigarettes then were archaic at best, we only get better every year. We don’t strive to be as good as 2007, we strive to be better every year. It really doesn’t make sense, the stuff that the FDA is proposing. Hopefully we’ll be able to steer them in the right direction. Honestly right now the application stuff, we looked into it, it could cost anywhere from $60,000 to $100,000 minimum to submit an application for one liquid, at one nicotine level, and you’d have to submit one for every nicotine level, that’s ridiculous. I don’t know too many E-Liquid companies that could survive that.

VA: What do you think people like about your juice the most? Do you think it’s because your flavors are unique or because they’re amazing in drippers?
G2 Vapor: I think they do like the uniqueness of the flavors and they aren’t just a run at the mill stuff. They all are multi-layered, I think that’s what keeps people vaping them. Plus the fact that they can taste different things at different wattages or different setups. Also I’ve always strived to never have perfume like or off tasting juice. I’ve always sourced the highest ingredients I could and that shows in liquids. I mean if someone has inferior ingredients, it shows, and people can taste it. It’s been one of those things where we’ve consistently grown every year and I’m thrilled with it. I can’t say 100% that it’s this or that, but I think it’s a combination of everything.

VA: Some E-Liquids seem to have a shelf live, is that an issue with your juices?
G2 Vapor: No. Before any of them are released they are put through multiple stages of steeping and they are tested at each stage, and with my experience they get nothing but better with age.

VA: I’ve seen several people test different E-Liquids and something I’ve noticed is that some people will smell the liquid and if it’s unpleasant to them they won’t vape it and will automatically assume if it smells bad that it’s going to taste bad, or vice versa, if it smells good it’s going to taste good. What are your thoughts on that as a creator of E-Liquid?
G2 Vapor: Ah, that doesn’t always rain true. I had a friend tell me before that with some of my liquids, if he based it off smell alone that he would never think he’d like them, but when he vaped them it was completely not what he was expecting. I don’t think smell always does that, just like I said before you can put layers into the liquid that won’t come out with smell or something will overpower the smell and it won’t come out until you vape. Now if something smells bad of course, I think there’s probably something bad in there. Overall if you smell it, it might not come out and grab you but it doesn’t mean that the taste isn’t going to be there.

VA: Is there anything else that you believe is an important factor of G2 that you want vapers to know about?
G2 Vapor: Like I mentioned, the source of the ingredients. The VG and the nic are all 99.9% pure, and that’s what we use. A 99.9% VG is almost unheard of and I’ve had so many different competitors beg me to tell them where I get it from, and I won’t, but we use the purest ingredients possible. It doesn’t get higher than 99.9, it’s as pure as you can get. It does make a difference in the liquids, I mean, they are tasteless and they just have a cleanness to them. Also, we just recently went through a corporate name change, from G2 Vapor LLC to Liquid Art Incorporated, and the tag line for it I think says it all. It’s “Clean Pure Taste”. It’s really what we strive for in our liquids.

VA: When you say pure ingredients, do you mean organic ingredients?
G2 Vapor: No. I’m not sure how much the readers know about their bodies, but actually organic flavorings are not good for your lungs. Your lungs cannot process organic matter, because organic is living…actually artificial flavoring is the best thing for your lungs and a lot of people don’t even know that. It could eventually be detrimental to your lungs, it could cause issues down the road vaping organic matter. Your stomach and your lungs are two different things, your stomach can process the organic matter but your lungs can’t. So no, we don’t use organic. When I say pure, think about vodka that’s triple distilled for purity, that’s what I mean by pure. We make sure that the whole process we use is a pure process.

We recommend trying some of these flavors:

Blue Pop Shock  DeShock  Mr. Cookie  Purple Nurple
